One of my favorite things to do after an hour+ in the grocery store is to grab a Naked Juice blend on the way out. With all the BPA concerns, I started checking the bottles of everything I buy, including my favorite juice. I didn't exactly panic when I saw the dreaded #7, how could such a wonderful company use such a horrid plastic?! I know not all #7's are created equal. When I got home, I zapped off an email to the company to see what they had to say. I'm happy to report that Naked Juice does not use BPA containing plastic.
We apologize for any concern you've experienced because of the packaging we use in Naked Juice. While it's difficult to keep up with everything in the news, we are aware that there have been specific recent concerns about the presence of Bisphenol A in some common plastics.
You'll be happy to know that there is no Bisphenol A in any Naked Juice bottles. We're 100 percent sure of that.
Perhaps the most important thing to keep in mind is that all #7 plastics are not created equal. While some forms of #7 plastic could contain polycarbonate plastics (which do contain Bisphenol A) ours do not.
In recycling terms #7 plastic just means "multi layered" meaning that more than one kind of plastic is used. We use exactly two types of plastic -- high-density polyethylene (#2 plastic, which makes up most of the bottle) and a thin layer of nylon. Neither form of plastic has Bisphenol A.
We hope this information has helped to alleviate your concerns. We work very hard to make sure our Naked Juices are as good -- and as safe -- as possible.
